Story

Witsend's guard has been gone four days. The mayor has stopped making speeches.

Twenty years ago the Great Caravan came up the coast road with the year's trade and a vault wagon nobody was meant to know about. It never reached the pass. The road died that week, and everyone agreed it was a shame, and nobody asked why the shame was so thorough. Beryl asked. Four days ago she went to look, and now the mayor of Witsend has stopped making speeches. Find the tracks. Find her. Bring her home.
