Hi again Levlans!
As mentioned in yesterday's patch, I unfortunately didn't get all the bugs fixed because I was travelling all day, so when I woke up today I chose violence towards these bugs and they've now hopefully been removed from Levla!
I also took some breaks in-between all the bug fixing and added some new cool stuff that was also intended for Patch 18 that I think you might like!
Alright, let's get into it, and as usual, we start with the fun stuff!
Upcoming Server Maintenance
Levla is growing rapidly and it makes me so so happy, we are hitting new peaks every day, thank you so so much for your support thus far.
To prepare for further growth, I've decided to upgrade our servers tonight, which will happen at approximately 02:00 CEST (2 AM), or:
- EDT: 8:00 PM (the evening before)
- BST: 1:00 AM
- PDT: 5:00 PM (the evening before)
- AEST: 10:00 AM
QOL & User Experience
Combat Cycle Preview (DEMO)
It is very clear that the combat system still needs a lot of work and needs to be easier to understand, and soon I will be dropping a community feedback post which is related to how different types of weapons function.
When viewing NPCs today, you can view a combat forecast, which is slightly buggy. I am aware of it and I intend on completely rewriting this soon, however, something that a lot of you have requested is a way to see how much damage your character is dealing.
So, today I decided to implement a demo of a combat cycle preview which can be toggled on when viewing the different monsters/creatures in the app. It will simulate the attack speed of you and the monster you will be fighting, as well as your and their hits!
You can also now clearly see your estimated DPS versus the target.
Let me know what you think!
Item Details Sheet
When viewing the details of an item, there are a lot of details showing, some of it is really valuable and some is really confusing, and the goal is obviously to make sure everything is easier to understand and less cluttered as we keep on improving the app. I did some changes today that should help slightly with that, specifically when it comes to viewing and comparing stats of equippable items. There is of course more work to be done here but this will help a bit!
- NEW: Added a DPS stat to equippable weapons
- UX: Cleaned up the color usage of comparisons and stats when viewing equippable items
- UI: Crafting Recipe moved to its own tab to not make the sheet too big
Spell Details Sheet (Enchant Jewelry)
The spell detail sheet was also very confusing when it came to the user experience. You couldn't really see what different enchantments exist unless you had the required base ring, and the requirement the spell sheet said was confusing.
So, now it's split up into two tabs: the "Base Requirement" which is what is needed for the first enchantment, then in the tab "Enchantments" you can view each individual enchantment's requirements!
Select Equipment Sheet
I did some slight changes also to the select equipment sheet to be more readable when it came to the stat changes. This still needs some work however, but it should be slightly more readable.
Trading Post History
I also thought it would be nice to add some more depth to the trading post.
So, now there is a tab for viewing your trading post history, all sells and purchases from this point onwards, as this was not backwards compatible due to how we logged sales and purchases in the past.
Trading post purchases/sells will also show up on the adventure log!
Profile Settings: Pronouns
You can now also select your pronouns in your profile settings which will be shown on your profile. If I've missed any, please let me know!
Notification Settings: Farming
There is now an option to group farming notifications by sending a single notification when all your farming plots have finished growing!
Bug Fixes & Minor Changes
- CHANGE: Changed the design of the random event popup to feel more mysterious and special (to match the activity log really)
- FIX: Fixed an issue where when scrolling in the trading post and pressing an item it would not reset scroll and break the screen slightly
- FIX: Fixed a bug where the adventure for the "Saving the Garden" quest, where you need to cure the garden, wasn't showing
- FIX: Fixed a bug where the XP and rewards from planting the sacred seed were crazily amplified
- FIX: Fixed a bug where you couldn't start the quest "Saving the Garden" even though you had the requirements
- FIX: Fixed a bunch of visual bugs with the active effects, now they are displayed properly separated as they should be. In the same batch I also cleaned up the design a bit so it's more compact
- FIX: Fixed some bugs with the adventure live notifications for both iOS & Android
- FIX: Made a fix where if you created a todo quite fast it could skip the title of the todo/habit
- FIX (iOS): Fixed some visual glitches with the floating button, specifically when on adventures and the morphing of the icons when switching screens
- FIX (ANDROID): Fixed an issue where completing todos from the Android "Complete Todo" action was super slow (hopefully)
- FIX (ANDROID): Fixed an issue where you couldn't complete habits from the Android notification
Alright, that's it for today's update. I believe the next patch will be the big Patch 18 unless things go completely south!
See you then!
