Patch 17.3 - Post-Launch Cleanup

Our first cleanup patch since launch is here! We're officially live on Android, so this one focuses on crafting QOL, finishing off guild practices, and a big batch of fixes. Patch 18 is next and it's a big one, enjoy!

Hello Levlans, it's time for our post-launch cleanup patch!

Earlier this week we unofficially launched Levla, specifically, we are now available for the general public on Android, so yay us!

Apple are still reviewing us, and I hope we'll be able to launch on the App Store sometime next week.

Thank you so much for the support leading up to this launch but also now post-launch. I have never been more excited to be building a project, and I hope you all will stay here for this long journey ahead of us.

Anyway, let's get into the patch. This is a smaller cleanup patch and doesn't introduce too much new stuff, however, the upcoming patch after this, Patch 18, is going to be a crazy one, and I start working on that right now, so stay tuned!

Calling all Android Users

Now that we've officially launched on Android, it means Levla can start collecting reviews and ratings on the Play Store!

So, if you've got time and want to support the project further, feel free to go leave a rating on the Play Store. It really does a lot to help us get seen by more people so Levla can continue to grow!

Clear Play Store Cache!

Most of you have been part of our Internal Testing team, which means you might still have the flag as being one of our testers, and that won't let you leave public reviews (it just gets sent as feedback to me).

To get this flag removed, you might have to clear your Play Store cache:

Settings > Apps > Google Play > Storage > Clear Cache

Thank you again for your continued support and love!

Crafting QOL

The frontend has brought light to a lot of areas where UX can be improved within the app, and one of those areas is very clearly crafting, so I decided to do some quality of life improvements to crafting specifically.

Crafting is a huge part of Levla and it will continue to be, so I want to make this as smooth as possible. Today targets a few areas and more improvements are coming in a future patch!

Quest Sheet Crafting

One of the areas that added the most confusion was crafting straight from the quest sheet, so to tackle that I've implemented some UX & UI improvements:

  • NEW: When viewing a crafting recipe from within a quest, it now autofills the amount the objective requires or the max possible
  • UI: General UI improvements to the crafting flow
  • UI: Crafting sessions are now shown within the quest sheet if there are pending / ongoing crafting sessions

Better Crafting Feedback

I also felt like crafting was lacking proper feedback when started, completed and claimed:

  • NEW: You now receive a notification when a crafting session is completed (can be disabled from your notification settings, muted when in-app)
  • NEW: Custom toast when a crafting session is started
  • NEW: Custom toast when a crafting session is completed (when in-app)
  • NEW: Custom toast when a crafting session is claimed, shows XP rewarded, top quality made, and each quality individually if multiple quantity was crafted

General Crafting Improvements

  • UI: UI improvements to the crafting screen
  • UI: Changed the color of the crafting button to make it more prominent
  • UX: Crafting in general should feel more "snappy" now
  • MEMBERS: Members can now have 5 crafting sessions running at a time
  • NEW: Added crafting categories and recipes for Scimitars, Maces, Battleaxes and Spears
  • FIX: Issue where the crafting quantity wouldn't properly show

Guild Practices

In Patch 17.2 we introduced guild practices as part of our new guild content.

This system wasn't completed, and has today been completed!

  • NEW: You can now pin practices to your home screen, which lets you complete them directly from there
  • FIX: Being a higher tier than the required tier no longer locks it (lol)
  • FIX: Wording like "Answer Today" -> "Practice Now"
  • FIX: The practice sheet now properly moves when keyboard is shown
  • UI: Cleaned up the Practice Sheet

NOTE: Guild practices is a new experimental system and will keep getting updates to integrate nicely into the app, this is version 0.1!

General QOL

  • BALANCE: Nerfed some quest rewards
  • NEW: Equipment you don't have the requirements to wield now shows a lock symbol in the top left corner to indicate if it's usable or not
  • NEW: When viewing an item within a shop, it now shows how many you have in your inventory!
  • NEW: You can now hide the reflections system entirely if that's not your thing (settings menu -> settings)
  • NEW: Added a link to our web app in the profile settings screen so more people can find it
  • NEW: Added a citizen for bartering at The Docks that becomes available after the first quest!
  • NEW: You can now long press the app icon to create a habit or todo, works on both Android and iOS!
  • NEW: There is now a new Makeover Token, which can be used to change your appearance for free (will be distributed when needed and soon in random events)
  • MEMBERS: Members can now change their appearance for half the price
  • NEW: You can now skip sticky habits
  • UI: Redesigned the update screen slightly
  • UX: Reworked how we handle assets on first install
  • UX/UI: Completed quests are now rendered at the bottom of the quests tab

Dialogue Fixes

  • Fisherman's Favour: Fixed an issue with Bjarne not giving the fishing net, also added an option "could I have another fishing net"
  • The Forge Relit: Grumar now mentions the right qualities and gives you a pickaxe at the start of his quest
  • Reclaiming The Hillside: Brynna no longer mentions that they've seen you planting one seed at a time
  • Other: Also a bunch of other fixes I forgot about

Bug Fixes

  • FIX: Fixed issue with daily recurring todos not showing on the home screen
  • FIX: Fixed issue with battle habit completion not showing the correct skill XP bar
  • FIX: Fixed a bug with Android floating buttons morphing weirdly
  • FIX (ANDROID): Fixed issue where the "claim" button when reading letters would render under the native Android tab navigation
  • FIX: Rewrote how our backdrops animate in for completions, which should fix the issue where it sometimes doesn't render at all
  • FIX: Fixed issue where the forecast in the monster screen wouldn't show its pre-selected food
  • FIX: Fixed issue where "Upgrade to Lifetime" showed a yearly discounted offer
  • FIX: Issue where you couldn't unskip habits that were skipped on a different day than today
  • FIX: Issue where if you toggled on hide from leaderboard it wouldn't hide you from the guild leaderboard
  • FIX: Issue where if you toggled to hide the leaderboard UI it wouldn't hide the guild contributors
  • FIX: Lots of polishing on the android onboarding.
