- FishingFishing lets you catch raw fish from rivers and seas. Higher levels unlock rarer and more powerful catches. Each fishing spot has a catch rate that improves as you level up past its requirement. You might struggle at first, but the higher your level, the more reliable your catches become. Fish need to be cooked before they can be eaten, and better food heals more. Against tougher enemies, cheap food won't cut it. The stronger the monster, the better the fish you'll want in your inventory.
- IntelligenceIntelligence powers your magic. Higher levels increase your spell damage and healing power, and unlock stronger staffs and mage equipment. Beyond combat, Intelligence opens up utility spells like restoration, augmentation, and enchanting jewelry. It's the most versatile of the combat skills. Some enemies are especially weak to magic, making Intelligence essential in certain fights. A well-timed spell can do what a sword and bow can't.
- MiningMining lets you extract ores and metals from rock. These materials feed into other skills like Blacksmithing and Artisan, making it one of the most important gathering skills. Higher levels unlock better pickaxes, which speed up your mining and improve your yield. The right tool makes a big difference when you need materials in bulk.
- RestorationRestoration improves your natural recovery. Higher levels mean faster HP regeneration between turns in dungeons and more stamina from every source. Stamina is what keeps you going. Completing tasks, reflecting, and other activities all reward stamina, and Restoration increases how much you get. The higher your level, the more you earn from everything you do. In dungeons, Restoration quietly keeps you alive by regenerating HP between turns. It won't save you from a big hit, but it adds up over a long fight.
- VitalityYour Vitality level determines your maximum hitpoints. Every level increases your HP, making you harder to kill. Higher Vitality matters most against stronger enemies. A monster with a max hit of 10 against a player with 10 HP can take you out in a single blow, before you even get the chance to eat. Keep food in your inventory or learn restorative magic to heal during or out of fights. More HP means more time to use them.
- WoodcuttingWoodcutting lets you fell trees and gather logs. Wood is used across multiple skills like Artisan and Blacksmithing, making it another essential gathering skill. Higher levels unlock better axes, which speed up your chopping and improve your yield. Keeping your tools upgraded means less time gathering and more materials per trip.
