Restoration improves your natural recovery. Higher levels mean faster HP regeneration between turns in dungeons and more stamina from every source.
Stamina is what keeps you going. Completing tasks, reflecting, and other activities all reward stamina, and Restoration increases how much you get. The higher your level, the more you earn from everything you do.
In dungeons, Restoration quietly keeps you alive by regenerating HP between turns. It won't save you from a big hit, but it adds up over a long fight.
