Story
The Harvest Fair is tomorrow. Gladys's pumpkins are lined up along the allotment fence, Cyril has his speech ready, and all week the crows have sat on the rooftops, watching. Last night they left. This morning Tobbekarl is standing in his garden next to four dents in the grass.
The crows go for anything that shines, and the shiniest thing in Witsend is Gilbert, Tobbekarl's solid gold chair. The night before the Harvest Fair, they took him.
