While the survivors took the coast's wages and called it work, the caravan master's daughter grew up in the wreck and crowned herself queen of cargo the world abandoned. She holds court in the lead wagon in mismatched merchant finery, narrates her own legend in the third person, and pumps a crew of forty before raids that have not changed since she was nine. The name is a clerical error. The manifest scribe wrote it wrong twenty years ago, and caravan folk do not admit clerical errors, because they are professionals of logistics.
